About the Senior playgroup
In senior playgroup we help prepare your child for starting pre-school.
We will help each child to feel valued, confident and secure while helping them develop a sense of achievement through learning and play as well as build confidence and self-esteem by encouraging success and rewarding effort in all our children. Our room is registered for 21children aged 2yr 10mths upwards.
Our relationship with your child/children
Each child will be assigned a member of staff as their own key worker, who will be responsible for recording and observing your child’s milestones, and ultimately ensure your child is settled and happy whilst at nursery. Staff are always on hand to answer any questions or queries.
All about our day
We provide a structured daily routine which helps children feel secure and ensures they have a varied day full of stimulating activities. We structure our activities around a monthly theme with the children in mind to suit each individual’s needs and capabilities. Throughout the day the children have an opportunity to participate in table top activity, small & large group activities, imaginary play, water, sensory play and arts and crafts and much more.
Snack/meal times
Morning snack is at 10.45am, at this time the children will have toast, fruit. milk/water etc. Lunch time for full time children is at 1pm. Afternoon snack time is at 3.30pm.
Toileting
Nappies are changed regularly throughout the day as well as at set times.
In partnership with parents, children can be potty trained only when they are ready. Staff are at hand to discuss this matter if you have any concerns or questions.
